Basic Plating is an ingredient used to create many of the semi-basic machines. 2 are made of 3 lead ingots on top of 3 coal dust, or 16 can be made in the Nuclear Workspace with 4 tough alloy ingots on top of 4 tough alloy dust.
In version 2.3, there is a simpler recipe:
Graphite + Lead / Lead + Graphite = 2 Basic Plating.
